Ada Payasam

Ingredients

  • Rice palada – 250 gm
  • Shruti’s jaggery – 200gm 
  • Coconut milk (undiluted) – 1cup
  •  Coconut milk (diluted) – 2 cup 
  •  Ghee – 5 teaspoon
  • Cashew Nuts – 10 Raisins – 10.  
  • Coconut pieces – 1 teaspoon 
  • Cardamom powder – ¼ teaspoon 
  • Dry ginger powder – ¼ tea spoon

Cooking Method

1. In a pan and add 2 teaspoons of ghee and fry raisins, cashew nuts and coconut pieces separately and keep it aside.
2. To Make jaggery syrup add 200 grams of shruti’s jaggery powder and a glass of water into a pan and let it boil.
3. Once boiled, add cooked rice palada into it.
4. Cook well until it thickens.
5. Then add diluted coconut milk(2nd coconut milk), mix well and cook.
6. Add cardamom powder and dry ginger powder to this mix and stir well.
7. When it becomes thicken, again now add undiluted coconut milk(first coconut milk) and mix well.
8. Do not boil. Finally add all the fried cashew, raisins and coconut pieces.
9. Our delicious ada payasam is ready to serve now.
